Shuttle rolls to launch pad

NASA's space shuttle program inched closer toward return to flight Wednesday when Discovery rolled out of the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and made the four-mile journey to the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Great white shark released

The female shark -- not quite a year old now -- was starting to act like a hunter in the huge display tank where she has lived 198 days with a number of smaller sharks, tuna and other fishes and turtles, aquarium scientists said.

Picking up where Genesis left off

Tumbling through the sky, and without deployment of its parachute system, the NASA Genesis capsule plowed into the Utah Test and Training Range at high speed last September. Onboard were prized particles of captured solar wind, entrapped within sets of fragile collectors.
