In the early 1990s, the George H. Bush administration had plans to prosecute the hard-core pornography industry due to it’s out of control decadence in print media and on the computer. The number of child pornography sites, for example, had skyrocketed by the mid-1990s to over 100,000 internet sites. It was completely out of control.
Under the watch of the Clinton Administration and Attorney General Janet Reno, the fledgling prosecution effort of the Bush administration was cancelled. Reno derailed any serious attempt to go after the hard-core pornography industry.
Liberal Democrats on the Hill love to defend the pornography industry’s right to free speech. They have often aligned themselves with the ACLU in cases defending pornographer’s right to spew all types of filth. However, one only has to look at Constitutional law to discover that not all speech is free. In the 1957 case of Roth vs. the United States, Justice Walter Brennan said, “Although this is the first time the question has been squarely presented to the court … expressions found in numerous opinions indicated that this Court has always assumed that obscenity is not protected by the freedom of speech and the press,”
Yet Democrats continue to align themselves with pro-pornography groups such as the ACLU. These groups refuse to take a stand against the hard core porn industry, even though it is clear that many of these sites encourage and glorify sexual assault.
Hard-core porn sites on the internet also normalize out of control sexual activity. There are even some sites that promote violent sexual activity which sanctions sexual assault against women, children and even men.
Why aren’t Senate and House Democrats speaking out against this saturation on the world-wide web? Why aren’t members of the ‘Me-Too’ movement outraged about this? There are hundreds of thousands of websites on the internet that are negatively affecting the minds of adults and children. If the Senate and House Democrats are really concerned about sexual assaults as they like to portray themselves in the spectacle of the Kavanaugh hearings why are they silent on the issue of hard-core pornography?
In the old days, much of this type of porn could be found in seedy book stores or strip clubs in towns and cities across the country. With the advent of the internet, the hard-core pornography industry has cast its evil web over the minds of millions of Americans.
If you don’t have the capacity to filter these sites from your computer you will soon understand that the internet is now flooded with explicit and violent sexual garbage. Nevertheless, there are courageous organizations like the American Family Association (www.afa.net) who reach out to people who are battling with addiction to this material.
Sadly though, Senate and House Democrats as well as the ‘MeToo’ movement still continues to be silent on this issue … Hence the hypocrisy.
